Developments in Performance Assessment: 28 November 2003

SSRG launched a revised edition of the PAF guidance (a constructive critique of all the PAF PIs) shortly before the department of Health published the PAF results and tables for all councils in England. The event looked at strengths and weaknesses of the PI set and how DoH is consulting with councils to review the PAF dataset and discussed progress to date.

The second meeting of the SSRG London Forum will be held on 31 January 2003, 10.00-14.OO, lunch provided.

The meeting looked at performance indicators - with Stella Law speaking on results of work she and Karin Janzon undertook recently - Evaluating the Performance of Local Authority Social Services: The Performance Assessment Framework by Stella Law and Karin Janzon.

The case for and against the PAF as it is at the moment - in the context of the needs of service users in London was also be discussed.
