The promotion of Evidence Informed Practice and decision-making continues to pervade the work that we do. This Conference will explore why it should be happening, resources available to people, how organisations can support the development and provide practical workshops about work that people have carried out.

10.05-10.40 - Professor Chris Gaine, University College Chichester ? Why research is useful for practice
10.45-11.20 - Diane Gwynne-Smith, SCIE - the dissemination of research and the launch of the new Electronic Library for Social Care (eLSC)
11.25-12.0 - Celia Atherton, Director, Research in Practice (RiP) ? launch of the new practice handbook on evidence-informed team working
12.00-13.15 - Lunch and networking
13.15-13.55 - Teresa Morrison, Dorset County Council ? Barriers and incentives to developing a learning culture within a social and health care setting
14.00-14.45 - First workshop session
14.45-15.15 - Tea
15.15-16.0 - Second workshop session and close.
The workshop sessions will cover a wide range of issues from Family Support and Placements to Community Involvement in Research and Learning Difficulty Services. People will be able to attend two workshops as they will be repeated in the second session.
